POLICE, NPAS helicopter crewmembers and search and rescue volunteers are scouring St Catherine's Hill in Christchurch this afternoon as part of a search for a missing woman.
UPDATE: Body recovered from water believed to be missing Christchurch woman Sarah Moore
Sarah Moore, aged 54, was last seen at her home address in Fairmile Road at around 9pm on Monday, December 9, 2019.
It is not known when she left the address but police said she was not there at 8.30am this morning.
Sarah is described as white, five feet six inches tall and of very slim build with medium length wavy dark brown hair and brown eyes.
She usually wears glasses and has a tattoo of two bluebirds on her wrist. It is believed she may be wearing a long green coat.
Chief Inspector Lindsay Dudfield, of Dorset Police, said: “Sarah is understood to have been upset recently and it is believed that she left her address on foot and without her mobile phone.
“We are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare and are carrying out searches as we make every effort to locate her."
This afternoon, police issued two new photographs of Sarah.
Chief Inspector Rob Chalkley said: “We are very much in need of the public’s help as we have not been able to establish where Sarah might have gone.
“I would urge anyone with information about Sarah’s whereabouts, or who has seen a woman matching the description given since the evening of Monday, December 9 to please contact us immediately.
“I would also like to appeal directly to Sarah if you see this appeal to contact us or your family as we all just want to make sure you are all right.”
He said the NPAS helicopter and volunteers from Dorset Search & Rescue and Wessex 4x4 Response are involved in the search.
"Unfortunately, we have so far been unable to find her," he said.
Anyone with information or knowledge as to Sarah's whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 11:85.
