STRIKER Dave Reynolds could be set to stick with Worcester Raiders with new boss Karl Gormley declaring: "He isn't looking at moving anywhere else".

The ex-Worcester City hotshot linked up with Raiders to boost his match fitness following an early-season departure from Evesham United.

Tuesday's Worcestershire Senior Cup tie at Stourport Swifts was his third outing in red and black and Gormley reckons the tried-and-trusted technique of luring higher-profile players has worked a treat once more.

"We are hoping it will be long-term," said Gormley.

"He isn't looking at moving anywhere else now and we want to keep him for at least the rest of the season.

"If we can get lads in for a game or two you soon find out how they feel, they either love or hate us.

"They will either come along and think 'I don't fancy that' or get right involved and think 'I'll have a bit of that', which is what you want.

"He has been brilliant. He has stepped down a couple of leagues but is no big-time Charlie, I wouldn't stand for that and nor would Chris (Cornes, assistant manager).

"You see Dave getting involved and that's the big thing really. It makes such a difference, you see him speaking to Roland (Krol) throughout the game and he has been worth his weight in gold.

"I think the best compliment I can pay Dave is that he's as important off the pitch as an on it."

Raiders will have to do without Reynolds for tomorrow's trip to bottom-of-the-table Cradley Town in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division (Saturday, 3pm) due to unavailability.

That absence is exacerbated by creative catalyst Kyle Belmonte serving a one-match ban.

"We will miss the both," Gormley added.

"Kyle has started this season brilliantly, he has come on leaps and bounds and it goes to show discipline is still something we need to keep a focus on.

"We will have Matt Tyler back, though, and we are confident we have a squad that can cope.

"I know Cradley are quite low down in the league but we won't take anything for granted.

"This will be our tenth game and we haven't had an easy one yet, we know it will be a battle but we go into it full of confidence after doing so well and getting through (a Worcestershire Senior Cup tie) at Stourport in midweek."

Raiders head into the clash seventh in the standings, albeit having played every fixture away during the Worcestershire FA's ongoing development of Claines Lane.

Victory at The Beeches could see Gormley's men climb back into the fourth promotion place, albeit having played more games than some of the early frontrunners.
