A SPORTS charity is serving up free tennis in the Lickey Hills as part of national programme to improve physical and mental wellbeing.

The tennis courts at the Lickey Hills Golf Club, Rose Hill, Lickey, will offer free tennis every Saturday morning between 10-11.30am for a year thanks to charity Tennis for Free.

In partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association, Tennis For Free will provide free coach-led tennis sessions for all the family for one year as part of its aim to use tennis to improve physical and mental wellbeing across the UK.

The sessions will be led by professional tennis coach Zahied Iqbal and everyone is welcome and equipment is provided free of charge. Those wanting to take part just need to sign up at tennisforfree.com.

Iqbal said: "I am very excited to welcome Tennis For Free to Lickey and join the other 100 plus Tennis For Free sites across the UK.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to try tennis for either the first time, or to dust off the cobwebs after a time away from the sport. It’s a fun, friendly and entertaining free weekly event where you’ll make new friends and benefit from regular exercise. There is no catch, as the name suggests, everything is free.”
