MOBILITY scooter users will have another chance to race after a first of its kind event was cancelled last month .

The Disability Resource Centre (DRC) at Glan Clwyd Hospital has rescheduled its first 'Mobility Scooter Fun Day for Saturday, July 20 after the original event at Rhyl Events Arena on Saturday, June 8 was cancelled due to bad weather.

The rearranged event will balance help and and advice on a variety of topics with plenty of fun, and has secured once again music acts scheduled for last month including the Rhyl Silver Quartet, Colwyn Bay Ukulele Group and Hospital Radio, as well as a mobility scooter version of dance exercise craze zumba.

The day will also feature fun and games from mobility scooter fancy dress to slow races and an obstacle course to anyone who uses a mobility scooter with prizes to give away on the day.

Competitors are asked to make sure they are that the scooters are fully charged, as there are no on site facilities to charge them.

The event takes place at the Rhyl Events Arena on Saturday, July 20 from 1.30 pm. For more information on the DRC call 01745 341967.
