On May 12 a group of volunteers from Dhamma Dipa and Dhamma Padhana meditation centres participated in a sponsored fun-run in Hereford.
In an effort to contribute something to the local community, the proceeds went to OWL Good Neighbour Scheme - a friendly neighbour scheme covering the areas of Orcop, Garway, St Weonards and Llanwarne (the areas which surround Dhamma Dipa and Padhana).
The OWL scheme was launched by Herefordshire Council and Diocese of Hereford to tackle loneliness in the rural areas.
The scheme has services which include gardening tasks, odd jobs around the house, looking after pets, transport to appointments, collecting medicines, library visits and others.
In the previous two years the runners raised around £600 for the Llanwarne Village Hall.
