A MAN in his mid 30s was taken to hospital following a serious incident in Horwich.
Lee Lane was blocked by police and paramedics last night while they dealt with the incident near to the Spice Valley Indian Restaurant.
The man suffered numerous injuries, including to his leg and hip and he was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We took a man in his mid 30s to Salford Royal Hospital by land ambulance."
"The man has sustained mutliple injuries and the paramedics are treating him as a major trauma patient.
Emergency services were called at around 5.10pm. Police and the ambulance service both attended.
An air ambulance also landed in Green Lane Playing Fields, but took off without taking the patient on board.
The incident caused disruption to travel and buses, including Stagecoach's 125 service were diverted accordingly.
