A SHIPSTON-on-Stour group has received a fundraising boost from a town supermarket.

Shipston on Stour Rainbows were recently presented with a cheque of more than £8,000 by John Adams, the manager of the town's Co-op store.

The group were one of the Co-op’s three chosen local good causes for this year .

Rainbow Leader, Diane Wildish said: "A huge thank you to the Co-op for this wonderful donation which will make an enormous contribution to our funds and help us afford many new outings and activities for our Rainbows. We’d also like to thank the many local people who went online and designated Rainbows as their chosen charity so boosting our final total."

Local charity or community group interested in applying to be a Co-op chosen charity in the future should contact John Adams at the Shipston store from next spring or visit coop.co.uk/membership/local-causes.

This week the Rainbows group was set to visit Low Furlong retirement home to sing Christmas songs.
