'Amazing' Grace Jones, the oldest person in the uk
A CENTENARIAN who puts her long life down to having 'a tot of whisky every night' has now become the oldest person in the UK.
Grace Jones, of Pegasus Court, is known to her friends as Amazing Grace . Grace, born in 1906, owned her own business in her home town of Liverpool in the 20s before marrying Leonard Roderick Jones, a chief engineer, who died in 1986.
Mrs Jones is now the oldest person in the UK and is turning 112 in two weeks.
Her daughter, Deirdre McCarthy, said: “She is a wonderful lady. "
“She is loved by everybody and the qualities of her character, kindness, friendship and enthusiasm for life make her a very positive and inspirational person."
