NORTH Cotswold Community Radio has received a welcome boost with a grant of £2,586 from Gloucestershire Community Foundation following the recent floods which devastated its studios at The Old Police Station in Chipping Campden.

Robb Eden, chairman of the web-based station, said: "This will help us to rebuild the studio that was so badly damaged during the floods in July. Without the extra money, the whole operation would have been in jeopardy, so it goes a long way towards getting the operation back on track."

The station will officially start broadcasting this autumn.

The foundation grant comes on the heels of a £1,000 award to the project from Chipping Campden Community Trust which is being put towards the purchase of much-needed equipment including portable digital recorders to carry out interviews.

Gloucestershire Community Foundation will consider grant awards to any local group or organisation if they have suffered as a result of flooding. They can be contacted on 01452 656386 or e-mail
