STOW-ON-THE-WOLD has been named one of the top 10 food destinations in the UK by users of Booking.com.
According to more than 118 million reviews on the website, Stow was named amongst the likes of Leeds, Birmingham, Aberdeen and Bristol.
What’s more, 75 per cent of travellers said they would travel somewhere renowned for its great food and drink.
79 per cent of travellers between the ages of 18 and 34 considering travelling somewhere that’s specifically known for its gastronomic delights.
Pepijn Rijvers, chief marketing officer at Booking.com, said: “Culinary travel is an evergrowing trend, with travellers planning trips centred on tasteinspired exploration and seeking to fully immerse themselves in the local culture, of which food plays a huge part.
“Not only are people looking for luxury gastronomic experiences, but also sampling local and street food.”
The rest of the top 10 was made up of Harrogate, Padstow, Ludlow, Cardiff and Leicester.
