A MORETON-in-Marsh school has been presented with an award recognising the work of its science department.
Dormer House School's science department was presented with the gold standard Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM), at a ceremony held in Birmingham.
The award celebrates excellence in science teaching and learning, and talented young scientists worked hard to gain the award through extra-curricular science activities, competitions, and a science week.
The science department also hosted events for other schools including a physics masterclass and an astronomy evening.
Headteacher, Alison Thomas, credited the department and in particular science lead, Greg Stotesbury for providing “the very best in primary science teaching”, and said that the school was very proud and thrilled with this latest accolade.
Jane Turner, PSQM national director, added: “Gaining a PSQM award is a significant achievement.
"The profile and quality of science teaching and learning in each awarded school is very high.”
