RESIDENTS in Worcestershire are being advised to stay alert following reports of suspicious phone calls.
Police said a resident in the Bromyard area had received a call from a company called Telephone Privacy Service offering to fit a black box to their phone for £74 to stop unwanted calls.
Reports have been made across the country about similar scam calls.
Officers are advising residents never to give their bank details out over the phone. If the call is genuine the company will be happy to send paperwork to allow customers to make an informed decision.
Any suspected scam calls can be reported to police on 101.
