PERSHORE-based musician James Mattey will certainly be busy at this weekend’s Mello Fesitval at Hanley Castle.

James Mattey, aged 23, and his band Artiphunk will be there, and James has a separate slot as well.

A spokesman said: “He is a guitarist and vocalist and has been performing in bands and solo for the last 13 years.

“More recently, for five years he has fronted Artiphunk a funk/rock originals band and is joined by the excellent rhythm structure of Eckington based Dan Clifford on Drums and Backing Vocals and his brother Adam Clifford on Slap Bass.

“ The band have played most local music venues including The Marrs Bar in Worcester and The Iron Road in Evesham as well as many local music festivals and also recorded a live session for the BBC.”

The spokesman added: “The slightly unusual news is that both James and his band are doing separate shows at the Mello Festival at Hanley Castle. James will be doing a solo acoustic performance on Saturday May 26 at 2pm on the Melomania Stage and the following day he will be joining his band mates for Artiphunk’s performance at 5pm on the Contempo Stage.”
