WE have all experienced the insurmountable amount of paper that a business accumulates.

Invoices, purchase orders, employee records, procedures and much more are all printed, distributed, and stored in enormous quantities. Without the use of technology, this amount of paper was a by-product of a fully functioning business, and it was often both difficult and daunting to migrate entirely to a digital environment.

In more recent years, many businesses have, and continue to refine their systems to reduce the amount of paper they produce during normal activities. From online account management using Sage, Xero or similar, to business management with an intranet or file storage facility, these systems form the pillars for online and paperless business operation.

However, more bespoke systems are particularly difficult to identify solutions for, and systems continue to be far less efficient and optimal than they could be.

Manufacturing, agriculture, engineering and other sectors still require a combination of digital and paper-based systems to function as efficiently as possible.

The difficulty with systems in these sectors, is that there cannot be a ‘one size fits all’ solution. These solutions often clash with business aims, and do not align with the primary aim that the business has. Instead, software for these sectors should, in an ideal scenario, be custom-built to meet the exact needs of the business.

Many businesses benefit significantly from the paper to digital migration, and it is extraordinary how impactful this transition can be.
