A WORCESTER educational toy shop, which also has a specialist left hand section, has made the final shortlist in a national competition.

Wise Owl Toys, with its popular Left n Write section, has been shortlisted as one of the 25 best entries in Best Small Shop competition.

The family-run, independent shop places customer service as its main priority and seeks to offer different, inspiring and fun toys which also have an educational bias.

The Charles Street-based shop has over 20 years of experience selling educational toys.

Organised by IndieRetail, the competition's reception, which includes the announcement of the winners, will be held at the House of Commons on November 13. At the event the winner and two runners up will receive their prestigious awards.

Mark and Heather Stewart, Wise Owl Toys owners, said: “We are thrilled to have been selected and are really looking forward to our day out. It is really important, when the High Street is feeling the pinch, to support and encourage the small independents who bring so much that is different to our towns and cities.”
