NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND

STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

The Oxfordshire County Council, North Leigh Bridleway No. 31 (part), Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2020

On 21st September 2020, the Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order made on 20th July 2020 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting 122m of North Leigh Br 31 running from OS Grid Reference SP 3825 1402 immediately north-east of Field Farm, southeastwards into the farmyard at SP 3828 1397, continuing north-eastwards and then south-eastwards out of the yard to the farm drive at SP 3833 1397 to a new line avoiding the farm and yard running for 112m from SP 3825 1402 eastwards to SP 38281402 then south-eastwards to SP 3833 1397 where it re-joins the existing bridleway on the farm drive as shown on the Order map. It is not possible to view the Order at local council offices as they are temporarily closed due to the COVID 19 pandemic. A copy of the Order may be:-

The Order came into force on the date of confirmation but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within six weeks from 1st October 2020 make an application to the High Court.
