OVERBURY will tackle ex-England international Grant Burgess on familiar territory after victory in the first round of the County Fours.
Mike Mace, Phil Harrison (pictured), Dan Mason and Neil Williams travelled to Chester Road Bowling Club, Kidderminster to take on Alan Johnson, Arthur Fox, Andy Greenway and Bill Greenway.
There were some close ends yet Overbury never fell behind in a match that saw still saw Chester Road stay in contention right up until the last knockings.
Winning by only two shots with one third of the match remaining, Overbury put together a run of winning ends where they picked up three, three and four, enough to create the winning margin.
It saw the visitors close out a fine 25-15 triumph with another trip to Chester Road in round two against a rink featuring Burgess.
Overbury welcomes new members, young and old, with equipment and qualified coaches to get the inexperienced up and running quickly.
