CHILDSWICKHAM Gun Club president and honorary member Norman Morgan has died aged 104.

Members and guests attending the club's monthly shoot were informed of the news.

Morgan was one of the founder members over 50 years ago and is credited with the design of their badge logo.

Childswickham's Dave Andrews said: "He will be sadly missed but very fondly remembered, particularly at the Norman Morgan side-by-side competition that will be shot later in the year in his honour."

On a cold, wet start to the morning, attendance was higher than anticipated with members contesting the MSS All Rounders Cup Pt2.

With changeable weather, some clays became unpredictable and challenging.

Chairman David Galbraith secured high gun of the day with 35/40, narrowly edging out Danny Andrews on 34/40.

Tied for third were new member Barry Ohrman and club regular Dave Andrews on 33/40.

The next event will be a 40-target practice/club shoot on Sunday, May 27.

Only compulsory fibre wads will be permitted.
