EVESHAM'S Eli Meadows is moving up with his speedway riding while hoping to bring luck to team Somerset Rebels.
The Prince Henry's High School pupil, who turns 14 later this month, will be Highbridge-based Rebels' mascot for a third year.
He rides around before and after meetings, is well known among the Somerset supporters and gets lots of free practice.
This year he has moved up to a 250cc bike and plans to take part in five of the Young Lions fixtures where they ride on full-size tracks against other junior riders.
He is competing at Rye House in a junior meeting this week.
Meadows also races a 125cc bike in grasstrack events with 10 meetings this year and he hopes to regain his championship.
He was champion in his first year, retired due to a broken femur in his second and placed second in his third season.
