LITTLETON Clubs marched on towards the Evesham and District Basepoint Division One title with a 9-1 win against JLM Dragonflies.

Craig Witheford and Steve Cull beat John Price, Stephen Glazzard and Kevin Taylor.

Dragonflies’ only win came when Price beat John Taylor in a see-saw battle which ended when he won the fifth set 15-13.

Witheford is top of the individual averages with 37 wins from 38 played.

Littleton Positives moved up to second place with a 9-1 victory over Littleton Aces.

Nick Mytton and James Morrow won three each for Positives. Morrow had his first ever victory against Mark Bilsborrow who battled back to level from two sets down but dropped the fifth set 11-4.

Bilsborrow had Aces’ only win, defeating Doug Payne.

Dragonflies beat Bengeworth Purple 8-2 as Geoff Burford was undefeated.

Kevin Taylor and Ed Sommers both beat Bob Bryant and Aileen Phillips but lost to Richard McGhee.

Bengeworth Purple had a crucial 6-4 win against Kington Bulldogs in the battle for places towards the bottom of the table.

Kate Hughes was player of the match with three triumphs for Purple. Dougie Allan beat Andrew Smith and Steve Shaw but lost to Malcolm MacFarlane.

Bulldogs had a chance to salvage a draw via the doubles but Allan and Phillips beat Smith and MacFarlane to secure a 6-4 victory for Purple. JLM Hawks saw off Bulldogs 8-2.
