EVESHAM & Badsey Ladies survived a late onslaught to beat Shipton Oliffe 3-2 on Saturday.
Captain Laura Moore and a double Lydia Webster had put the hosts in complete control before Shipton hit back in the second half but with player-of-the-match Zoe Miller in fine form at the back, Evesham saw out victory.
Freezing conditions helped the ball zip around at a swift pace with Moore converting a short corner early on.
Moore could have made it two from an Evesham & Badsey break but keeper Alannah Croft was also called upon to protect the lead.
Another short corner teed up Webster’s first with Sarah Jones having a third ruled out.
Webster converted a third short corner before the fightback began in earnest, the second Shipton goal coming as a result of a rebound.
To their credit, Evesham & Badsey protected their lead by going on the front foot and gunning for a series of short corners that ultimately yielded no further goals.
The men secured a 6-1 win at Cirencester B thanks to Tom Clifford's hat-trick, a brace from Ed Betteridge and Marcus Humpston's drag flick.
The men's A team also won convincingly, 5-0 against Cirencester C with Ali Sanderson firing home a treble and Andy Osborne and Phil Dine on the score sheet.
