BRETFORTON seconds won 3-2 at Blockley seconds in a West Club's Women's League Severn Division Three derby to maintain their 100 per cent record this season.

A close match ensued between the top two but Blockley started off on the attack and went ahead in the first 10 minutes with a well-converted short corner.

Bret soon found their feet and fine play down the right wing from Ness Dufty and Milly Ingles moved the ball onto Rosie Zubek.

She ran into the D and with a first-time strike rocketed the ball into the goal with an unstoppable shot.

Bret showed great composure on the ball with excellent passing moves by midfielders Dufty and Emma Lowe together with Isla Clayton on the left who had one of her best games of the season.

Blockley were quick on the break and an attack led to a short corner which was converted in similar manner to their first goal to edge into the lead into the half-time break.

The hosts piled the pressure on in the second half but with some sharp goalkeeping by Heather Carr Bret soon regained their composure and an attack led to a short corner.

A sharp shot from Dufty was parried by the keeper and Tess Lewinton with the fastest stick first knocked the ball into the goal.

With 100 per cent effort by all the team Bret kept the pressure on Blockley and with a short corner of their own they were rewarded.

Andrea Cole picked up the perfect cross from Ness Dufty to smash the ball home to take the lead just five minutes before the end.

Both teams tired towards the end but Bret kept their heads and stuck to their game-plan.

Youngsters Amy Ball, Zubek and Clayton all had excellent games, playing with great composure for their age.
