EVESHAM'S Jones Dorling Racing competed at Cadwell Park in the Superstock 1000 Championship round eight.

Rider Joshua Boyd, recovered from his crash at Brands Hatch, returned to join Ashley Beech fighting for points.

But again bad luck hampered Beech as issues during qualifying forced him to pull out of the 15-lap race.

Free practice left Beech 15th and Boyd 31st and the team worked through the night to prepare both bikes.

Rain fell on the third lap of qualifying which meant lap times and positions were frozen before Beech or Boyd could get in any faster efforts.

Beech was struggling to get the BMW 1000 flowing.

The team stripped the bike down and discovered issues with the frame and  a twisted swinging arm.

They pulled out of the race with the team already working on a solution to the issue ready for the next round at Silverstone.

Boyd began from the back of the grid in 30th but fought hard, bettering his lap times.

He raced to the chequered flag in 21st to equal his best finish in the class.
