PERSHORE High School student Ruth Bennett represented Great Britain at the European Canoe Association (ECA) Canoe Sprint Juniors and Under 23s European Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.
The 18-year-old, who lives in Pershore, was seventh in the B final for 500m.
She paddled another personal best in the 200m semi-final, narrowly missing out on reaching the final.
Meanwhile, Gab Bruce snapped up a bronze medal as 10 Pershore High School students represented a South Worcestershire team at the district County Athletics Championships at Nunnery Wood in Worcester.
Bruce picked up a bronze for her part in the 4x100m relay final, while Jasmine Franks finished fourth in the 800m final.
Pershore High School headteacher Clive Corbet said: “To take 10 representatives was an outstanding achievement in its self but a special mention goes out to Ned Harvey and Callum Brassington-Meehan who did exceptionally well qualifying for the 100m final.”
He added: “It was a great day for the Year 8 students and whilst the success of must be celebrated, attention should now be turned to how they are going to go one better next time out.”
