WORCESTERSHIRE’S Matt Bond is ready for his second London Marathon on Sunday.

UK number two-rated marathon runner Bond of Wyre Piddle will be hoping for more success when he runs in the famous race this weekend.

Bond has already qualified for this year’s world championships which will be held in London on August 6.

He attended King's School Worcester from the age of 11 to 17 before starting his running career at the age of 23 with Sale Harriers Manchester.

Bond moved to America in 2010 and competed for Adams State College’s cross-country team.

While there he won five All-American honours and then returned to the UK in 2012 where he has continued to represent Sale.

In his first London Marathon last year he finished with a time of two hours 15 minutes.

However, this year’s marathon is sure to be highly emotional for Bond after his mother died just seven weeks ago.
