HOT golf prospect Oliver Farrell has never forgotten his roots at Evesham despite showing immense promise.

The 19-year-old former Pershore High School pupil joined the Fladbury club when aged seven and first won the men’s club championship at 12.

Farrell has gone on to win it every year since despite now being part way through a scholarship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, where he plays top-flight golf.

At 13, he claimed the County Under 14s Championships followed by the under 16s and 18s titles.

In 2013, Farrell won the Midlands Faldo Series Cup and a string of events in 2014, including the Worcestershire County Open Championships and the Men’s Midland Under 21s Amateur Championships.

He has continued his success this year by representing England boys, winning the Worcestershire County Championship and playing in the final qualifying round of The Open Championship.

Farrell said: “Wherever my golf takes me, Evesham will always be my home club.”
