Mill ends Pinvin's grip on the Cup

CIDER Mill ended Pinvin United’s two-year hold on the Pershore Hospital Junior Cup with a last gasp 4-3 final victory.

Despite the attentions of two defenders, Mill’s Daryl Ballard produced a stunning strike over the keeper for a late goal worthy of winning any game.

After a cautious start at Pershore Town, the Evesham side scored twice in 10 minutes through Anthony Smith and Stephen Bullock.

Pinvin pulled a goal back early in the second-half through Michael Bulford only for Mill to score again when a corner was headed home by Bullock.

The villagers battled back strongly, equalising thanks to a quick free-kick by Mark Bellamy and Adam Izod’s close-range effort.

Pinvin were denied by a brilliant save from keeper Chris Tyren and had a shot cleared off the line before Mill broke away to score the winner.

Alderton won the Pershore Hospital Minor Cup with a 2-0 victory over AC Olympia as a disappointing game was decided through an own goal and M Greaves’ strike.
