NOMADIC striker Charlie Anagho-Ntamark has been credited with making Pershore Town “a different team” with boss Quentin Townsend hopeful he will put down roots at his latest club.

The ex-Hednesford Town hitman has already racked up appearances for five different Midland Football League club this season with his eight for Town arriving across two spells.

Anagho-Ntamark pulled on the jerseys of Paget Rangers, Worcester City, Lye Town and Boldmere St Michaels before marking his second coming with Pershore by scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Griff.

His clever flick then helped Town to their biggest league victory of the season on Saturday – a 4-0 beating of Chelmsley Town – with Townsend quick to recognise the frontman’s impact.

“Charlie recently came back from Boldmere,” said Townsend. “I could understand why he went to play at the level above with it also being closer to home in Walsall.

“As it turned out he found himself on the bench a lot so we had another chat because he had just started to find his form and fitness when he left here and he makes us a different team.

“He is strong, physical and can get the ball down and bring other people into play. That has been a big factor in us turning around our fortunes and hopefully, we can keep everyone here and kick on now.”

Departures had been a constant menace for Town during the opening weeks of the season but while Townsend seems to have stifled the revolving door for now, he accepts it as part of the territory in football’s tenth tier.

“Having been at this level for a long time, things are always likely to be the same,” he added.

“I don’t want to use 50 players per season but that is the nature of this league and this club because it is farther away from places like Birmingham.

“We have two lads that travel from Tamworth to play for us so that desire is there and I am very happy with the squad, I just hope no one else comes in for any of our players.”

Pershore will look to build on the Chelmsley success when they travel to Coventry Copsewood on Saturday (3pm).
