ELIOT Grady was the hat-trick hero as Evesham WMC overcame an indifferent start to the season to trump backmarkers New Inn Pershore 4-3 in a Division One thriller.

Jordan Izod was also on the scoresheet in what proved to be Evesham’s third league win out of six matches to date.

Phil Davies struck twice to turn the tide in favour of Bretforton Old Boys who came from behind to win 2-1 at Stour Excelsior to maintain their 100 per cent league record and seize top spot from Broadway United who were busy beating Offenham Rovers in the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup.

John Boother and Tom Boother were among the goals as Cropthorne walloped Sun Inn 6-0 in Division Two but that haul was doubled in Stratford HGC’s 12-0 thrashing of Fairfield Titans in Division Three.

There was a bounty of goals in the Evesham Hospital Sunday Minor Cup first round as Broadway United reserves won 8-1 at Bredon, Alderton saw off Ambi Allsports 5-2 and and Bretforton Old Boys reserves accounted for Charlton Fladbury 3-1.

In second round matches, Alcester Town comfortably beat Bengeworth 8-0, Pebworth recorded a 7-3 win at TDMS Evesham, Badsey Recreation took the local bragging rights by trumping Fortis 2-0, TDMS Harvington won 2-0 at Ashton 88 and Dragons defeated neighbours Strawberry Field United 2-1.
