Robins in goalless Sunday stalemate

Evesham United 0, Bedford Town 0.

HONOURS were shared by two sides desperate to climb the Zamaretto League Premier Division.

Bedford arrived looking for their first win of the season, Evesham hadn't won since the opening day.

Unfortunately, neither side did enough to claim maximum points with a goalless draw looking the final outcome long before the final whistle.

It took until four minutes into the second-half before either keeper was forced to make a save.

Eagle's stopper Ian Brown easily gathered from Steve Luckett.

Before that, a forgettable opening 45 minutes saw Justin Nisbett and Jermaine Clarke waste half-chances for a below-par Robins.

The second-half followed suit with nothing to excite the sparse crowd.

Substitute Simon Fitter did land a free-kick on the roof of Brown's net and Nisbett created an opening for himself but ballooned the ball out of the ground.

The final move of the game had Nisbett find Clarke in space but the striker's first-time shot rolled past an upright with Brown beaten.

Evesham United: Vaughan, Costello, Robbins, Hodnett, Luckett, Mensah (Fitter 45), Barnfield, Clarke, Nisbett, Agbor (Lennon 65), Koriya (Teji 80). Subs not used: Bastow, Cummins. Attendance: 146.
