Robins hit six in a second friendly
7:00am Saturday 4th August 2012 in Evesham United FC
FOR the second time in four days, Evesham United found the net six times to continue their promising countdown to the new season.
Neighbours Littleton were the latest to be hit for six, following the 6-1 demolition of Malvern Town last Tuesday, with striker Luke Corbett leading the way with his first goals of pre-season.
After a bright start from Littleton, Evesham’s Marcus Palmer, however, showed how it should be done moments later, curling his shot beyond keeper James Bishop to put the Robins 1-0 up.
But it was Evesham who scored again when playercoach Neil Mackenzie set up Corbett who beat Bishop with a fine finish.
Goal number three arrived three minutes into the second- half courtesy of Roland Agbor’s close-range header.
Littleton got on the scoresheet on 65 minutes when Thomas could only push Simon Fitter’s long-range effort into the path of Manduchehri who scored.
Play then switched to the other end, resulting in Pav Gierdl making it 4-1 with a shot on the turn from 10 yards. Two goals in a fiveminute spell before the end capped a comfortable afternoon for Matt Clarke’s side.
Mackenzie got a fifth from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box by Matt Mitchell and then Corbett got his second to complete the scoring, tapping in Agbor’s cross.
