New boss hopes for fine times

GARY Aldington hopes to bring the good times back to Pershore Town after being appointed manager.

The 51-year-old was assistant to Neil Hunt during the 2011-12 campaign but has been promoted to the King George V Playing Fields hotseat following Hunt’s decision to step down.

Pershore finished secondfrom- bottom in the Athium Midland Football Combination Premier Division but are unlikely to be relegated as there are only 17 teams in the league.

Aldington will combine the job with being in charge of Upton Snodsbury in the Worcester and District League. He led the villagers to second in the Sunday Premier Division and won the Katherine Rayer Cup.

Aldington said: “I have got a lot of feeling for Pershore Town. I have been involved for 20 years.

“It’s in my blood and I want to take us forward.”
