9:40am Saturday 28th April 2012

LITTLETON gave away two penalties for the second Athium Midland Combination Division One game running.

The leaders lost 3-0 at Alvis and red-hot favourites Blackwood have three games in hand to take over at the top.

Littleton took the game to their hosts and came close to scoring on 12 minutes when Tim Beattie headed Joe Walsh’s corner just over.

But then Beattie gave away a penalty for handball and former Cameroon international Patrick Suffo dispatched the spot-kick.

Littleton continued to create chances and Jamie Clarke fired Walsh’s through- ball wide.

After just seven minutes of the second period, former Coventry City striker Suffo obliged for the second time from the spot after Beattie was adjuged to have fouled in the box.

While Littleton felt sorry for themselves, Alvis scored a third to wrap up the game.

The Vale side have finished their league progamme and face a long break before playing Archdales on Saturday, May 12, in the President’s Cup final at Stratford Town (3pm).
