SHAYE Eden’s double helped Shipston Excelsior to get the better of rock-bottom Leamington Hibernian 3-1 on Saturday.

Craig Robins was also on the scoresheet for Shipston, rendering meaningless Joe Fisher’s goal for Hibernian on the hour.

It was Excelsior’s third straight Midland Football League Division Three victory to secure third place in the table at Christmas, six points shy of leaders GNP Sports.

On Saturday, Shipston travel to mid-table Inkberrow (2pm).

Lee Brooks and Callum Peters struck as Moreton Rangers beat Bishop’s Cleeve Development 2-0 in Hellenic League Division Two West.

The triumph keeps Rangers hot on the heels of leaders Newent Town whose 13-0 victory over Easington Sports Reserves kept a five-point cushion although Moreton have a game in hand.

Bourton Rovers’ game at Cheltenham Saracens Reserves was postponed.

Rovers host Newent and Moreton go to Faringdon on Saturday, January 6 (both 2.15pm).
