MATT Greaves grabbed four goals as Alderton walloped Badsey Recreation 5-0 in Division Two of the Evesham Sunday League.

Broadway Utd maintained their perfect start in Division One with a 4-1 victory at New Inn Pershore. Doubles from Cooper and Craig did the damage with Rushden on target for the home team.

Mickleton Rangers and Tewkesbury Town shared a 4-4 thriller. Keyte (2), Moore and Mills scored for Rangers with Tarling (2), Bloom and Kavanagh on target for Town.

Ambi Allsports recorded their biggest win of the campaign so far with a 7-2 victory over Fairfield Titans with Booth (2), Richardson (2), Dawe, Dyke and McKenna on the score sheet.

Elsewhere in Division Three, Stour Excelsior reserves seized top spot with Kemp’s goal enough for a 1-0 win over previous leaders Alcester Town. Stratford HGC beat Bengeworth 1-0 thanks to Spilsbury’s goal.

There were mixed fortunes for Evesham League teams in the WFA County Cups.

Bretforton Old Boys progressed in the Junior Cup first round with a 6-0 win at Bromsgrove side Hizza Utd with Reeves bagging a hat-trick, Sean Brian a brace with one more from Davis.

Evesham WMC produced their best performance of the season to thrash Rock Sports 8-1 but Offenham Rovers and Inkberrow each conceded six to crash out of the competition.

In the Minor Cup, Broadway United reserves defeated GDL Athletic 5-0 with goals from Goodall (2), Parker, Hicks and Sallis.

Bretforton Old Boys reserves won 4-2 at Ashton 88 thanks to strikes from Stanley, Stride, Staley and Dovey. Begley netted twice for Ashton.

Cropthorne needed a penalty shoot-out to defeat Pebworth after a goalless encounter while Dragons waltzed through with an 8-1 success over Strawberry Field United.

Last season’s finalists TDMS Harvington went out 5-4 against Mostyn Rangers despite a hat trick from Woodfield. Fortis, Bredon and TDMS Evesham also failed to progress.
