PERSHORE Town finished the season with a 1-1 draw at Heather St Johns in Midland Football League Division One.

Town entered the match still mathematically able to be relegated but ended four points above the relegation zone in 18th.

They started the match slowly and trailed through Jake Healy's free-kick after only 10 minutes.

It was late in the half when Town created chances with Reece Jacobs and Ben Lane forcing Heather's man of the match Ben Allsop in goal into saves.

Will Stallard also went close with a header that was hooked off the line.

Town dominated the second half as Dane Aldington headed over from close range and substitute Tunde Ajibade's acrobatic overhead kick went narrowly wide.

Allsop made excellent stops from a Jacobs shot and Aldington's 25-yard left-footed drive together with a host of other saves.

He was eventually beaten from the penalty spot by Chris Whittaker after 65 minutes following a handball by a defender from Jacobs' effort.

Southam United and Pelsall Villa were both relegated to Division Two.
