LITTLETON finally returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over struggling Pelsall Villa for their first triumph at Five Acres since December.

The hosts, strengthened by the return of several players from injury and suspension, opened brightly and created two good chances early in the game but both were squandered with the keeper beaten.

Pelsall had their first threat on goal after 30 minutes in the Midland League Division One clash only for the chance to be wasted from close range.

After 31 minutes Littleton were awarded a penalty when Dan Stokes was clearly fouled and the visitors were lucky to avoid being reduced to 10 men.

Sean Brain rifled home an unstoppable shot and two minutes later provided Stokes with an opportunity that was again off target.

After 48 minutes a corner by Aaron Xavier was met at the near post by Lewis Marston to make the score 2-0.

The visitors came close after 63 minutes but were unable to complete a fine counter-attack.

But in the 83rd minutes a mix-up in the home defence was tapped in to complete the scoring.

Mid-table Littleton's man of the match was Chris Haydon.

They are again in action on Saturday when they entertain local rivals Pershore Town (3pm).
