EVESHAM United boss Paul Collicutt hopes to field “two or three new faces” against Kidderminster Harriers in tomorrow’s Worcestershire FA Senior Cup clash (11am).

The Robins slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Worcester City in their semi-final and face Harriers at the Jubilee Stadium in a third-place play-off.

Evesham finished the tie with nine men after Marcus Jackson was red-carded after a tussle and Liam Harding was withdrawn with cramp.

Collicutt said: “The game against Worcester was highly competitive. I am hoping to have two or three new faces involved tomorrow but it hasn’t been finalised. I’d rather see my lads playing games than training.”

Forward Lance Smith (shoulder) and defenders Matt Sysum (swollen knee) and Harding are doubts.

Evesham are without striker Adam Mann and keeper Kevin Sawyer (holidays).

Meanwhile, Harriers boss Gary Whild believes the competition has disrupted his pre-season preparations.

They lost 3-0 on penalties to Redditch United in the semi-final just two days after sharing a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City at Aggborough. They are expected to field a young team at Evesham.

Whild said: “We wanted to take the cup seriously, like last year, and were happy to play Redditch later in the week but there was no flexibility. We couldn’t change it.

“The game against Redditch was only two days after Birmingham and we didn’t want to risk any injuries.”
