Pershore Town moved back to 10th in Division One of the Midland League after a brace from George Coley led them to an emphatic 3-0 victory against Alvis.

Pershore were indebted in the early stages to goalkeeper Yarnold who pulled off two good saves in the first-half.

But it was Town who enjoyed most of the possession and had the better chances with Stuart Hall and Joe Robinson both going close to breaking the deadlock.

Town dominated the second period and after Coley deservedly fired Pershore ahead in the 53rd minute with a leftfooted volley from the edge of the box.

Robinson increased Pershore’s advantage soon afterwards when he was put through by Aaron Xavier to plant the ball past the Alvis goalkeeper.

Coley completed his brace with a right-footed shot late in the half by which time Town had already squandered plenty of other chances to increase their lead.

Substitute Grant Baker was unfortunate to rattle a post in the last minute of the match.
