EVESHAM slumped to their 12th Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League Division Two defeat of the season.

The bottom-of-the-table hosts went down by 40 runs after they dismissed Halesowen for 187.

Asif Khan (71) and Hasan Qaumi (45) starred for the visitors, while Abinetthar Singh took 6-30 and James Crenan 3-45 for Evesham.

Sandeep Kumar hit an unbeaten 53 but Phil Croft (5- 62) and Khan (4-25) combined to dismiss Evesham for 147.

The town team have yet to win this season and the four games they avoided defeat in were all abandoned.

Evesham seconds are also bottom of Division Two South, crashing by 121 runs at Bromsgrove who amassed 307 without losing a wicket.

In reply, opener Rizwan Mohammed scored 84 and Muhammad Tahir Mirza 48, but the visitors were all out for 186 in 24.4 overs.
