DUMBLETON won the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League South East Division after Stanway Boxmen could not field a side.

The points were handed to Dumbleton and with a batting average higher than their rivals Ashton-under-Hill they took the honours.

Dumbleton will represent the division in the county finals in Worcester on April 22.

Meanwhile, Ashton-under-Hill (137-4) beat Alcester and Ragley (98 all out) by 39 runs to start the cup campaign.

Ashton put on a batting display that scored runs through the order.

Jon Cooper (33 not out) top scored with contributions from Richard Cooper (25), Tom Watling (26), Will Archer (23no) and Mahesh Patel (16). All the wickets to fall were through run outs.

Alcester replied by losing Ben Lee well caught low down by Matt Wakefield in the first over.

Two more quick wickets fell to end the fifth over on 50-3.

By the end of the eighth, Craig Wiggett found himself on his own at 80-5.

Fatigue and trying to hit the ball too hard put Wiggett behind the run-rate. In the 11th over, he was run out for 42.

The competition divides the clubs into two groups with the winner of each, decided by batting average if equal on points, playing for the cup.
