THERE was a special accolade given out at Dumbleton Cricket Club’s end-of-season awards.

Tommy Boorman, 12, scored a century in an adult thirds game this year and was recognised by Bunbury Cricket Club.

Midlands representative Harry Dyke said: “After reading about Tommy’s remarkable achievement I knew he deserved some special recognition of some sort.

“He is a tremendous talent and I believe he is well on the way to qualifying for a Bunbury Festival spot in the near future.”

Boorman, who plays for Gloucestershire at age group level, received a Gunn and Moore bat, a signed Steven Finn photograph and a Bunbury brochure signed by England one-day captain Eoin Morgan and players Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly.

Other winners on the night included Bunbury Festival player Dan Holland, who scored over 2,500 runs this year, and Ryan Kilmister as he has taken more than 100 wickets during the season.

The festival was founded by Dr David English CBE and is the first step towards an England call-up.
