SOME of south Worcestershire's youngest cricketers will get a chance to show their proud dads just how much they’ve learned about the game in a short space of time.

Bredon Cricket Club, near Pershore, is hosting a festival for six under 9s teams on Father's Day (Sunday, June 19, 2016).

Other family members, guests and anyone who enjoys watching junior cricket are also invited to what the club say will be an ideal family day out.

The cricket gets under way at Bredon's picturesque Hill Close ground at 1.30pm.

The club's fully licensed bar will be open, and there will be a barbecue.

Tea, coffee and cakes will be on sale too.

The festival includes a competition challenging people to see how many times they can hit the wicket with six balls.

The top bowler wins tickets to watch the Worcestershire versus Northamptonshire one-day match at New Road on July 27.
