THERE were 72 ladies from Broadway competing in the popular Spring Texas Scramble that was followed by the spring dinner and presentations.
Results: 1 Jen Doran, Daphne Martin, Julia Fortescue, Valerie de la Pena nett 65; 2 Nadine Simpkin, Joan Gisbourne, Margaret Riley, Jill Rolfe 65.5; 3 Helen Perry, Jo Carruthers, June Griffin 67.7; 4 Henrietta Cooke, Christine Moulder, Ann Gusterson, Kim Lockyear 68.6 (cb).
In the Ping fourball betterball competition, the top 72 pairs in each region qualify for the Regional Final to be held at Meon Valley GC Hampshire in September.
Broadway winners were Ver-onica Rudd and Doreen Reeve with 38 points ahead of Julia Ward and sister Vivien Milner who took second spot with 36 on countback.
