Shelter is solace for wet Wheelers

THE weekly midweek run met at Norton Gra-nge with their eyes set on County Hall in Worcester.

The peleton made its way out through the villages of Dunnington, Radford, Dormaston, Stock Green, Shelford and Himbleton before a tour of Crowle in some welcome sunshine.

Once at County Hall the group sheltered in the torrential rain that had threatened all morning.

Many didn't make it back without the soaking they had anticipated but a respectable 40 miles had been covered.

On Sunday, 24 members made their way out of Evesham towards the Jinny Ring Centre at Hanbury passing through Harvington and into The Lenches where the heavens opened.

Struggling through the lumpy terrain that typifies the Lenches, one group cut away and headed for the warmth and comfort of Hiller's at Dunnington.

The rest of the group pressed on through country lanes around Droit-wich. Once at coffee, the conditions eased slightly and the return journey was far more pleasant completing 52 miles.

Next wednesday there is a ten-mile Time trial on the K33/10R course meeting at Harvington from 7.15pm. This Sunday's club run is to the Cots-wold Farm Park meeting as usual at 9.15am.
