PERSHORE edged closer to a Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League place with victory against promotion rivals Oldswinford.
The Worcestershire League Division One side got off to a solid start with opening batsmen Michael Faraday (57) and David White (77) putting on 117 for the first wicket.
Brett Huxley (43) and an unbeaten nine-ball 24 from Sean Jenkins propelled the innings to 250-5 from their allotted 50 overs.
Oldswinford’s reply never really got going as Luke Dalley (3-36 in 13 overs) and Lee Wilks (3-8 in seven) restricted the visiting side.
Pershore now sit top of the division, level on 245 points with Worcester Nomads.
The second XI lost to Worcester Dominies in Division Two. William Davies and Aly Duddell both scored 32 as they posted 196 all out.
Dominies chased down the target with six overs left, despite 3-53 from Sam Cross.
