FOURTEEN clubs featuring 72 players took part in Evesham Golf Club’s ladies’ AMAM competition.

The winners, from Stratford Oaks, were Cathy Wise, Irene Allan, Val Walker and Pam Brannan with 71 points.

Runners-up were Dee Machin, Pat Catlin, Lesley Kewley and Pam Hutcheon from Evesham with 70, while third place went to Gill Smith, Marlene Billings and Frances Wilkinson from Evesham, with Gill Mitchell from the Vale, on 69.

• Evesham seniors maintained their unbeaten record at Craycombe Links by beating Redditch 6-1 in their last home game of the season.

Captain Mike Abraham and Ian Wood overcame a strong fight back by their opponents to record a 3-1 win, while John Machin/Martin Williams (2&1), Geoff Burton/ Richard Steel (4&3), Ian Facer/John Smith (win by 1), Alan Minton/Michael Morris (win by 2) and Neil Croft/ Mike Brumage (5&4) all came home in front.

Evesham also secured a rare whitewash against Lilleybrook to make it seven wins and two draws in 2012 with six away games left.
