Powell's century inspires Badsey

UNBEATEN Badsey replaced Norton Lindsey seconds at the top of Cotswold Hills League Division Four with a commanding 110-run victory.
After posting 251-7, Badsey dismissed their visitors for 141 and are now 13 points above them at the summit.
Norton Lindsey won the toss and put the hosts in, reducing them to 26-2 after seven overs.
However, a partnership of 128 between skipper Mike Powell and Sam Thomson during the next 24 overs put them in control until the latter was out lbw for 40.
With Badsey on 154-3 after 30 overs, Powell pushed on for a fine 122, including 20 fours and two sixes, finally being dismissed by Jack Andrews.
From 208-4, Tim Evans hit a quick-fire 25 alongside Rob Andrew (24 not out) to take Badsey to the close on 251-7.
Norton struggled to forge any major partnerships in reply with Daniel Fell topscoring on 32, aided by 27 from John Maundrell and four other batsmen reaching double figures.
The visitors slipped from 92-3 to 94-5 before three wickets fell over the next 12 overs for just 41 runs en route to 141 all out. Powell completed a fine day’s work with figures of 3-50.
Badsey seconds continue to struggle in Division Six following a 10-wicket defeat at Bidford-in-Avon.
After dismissing their opponents for just 64, Bidford wasted little time in completing the job for a 22-point haul.
