Littleton to light up Premier

THE wait for Littleton to make their bow in the Midland Combination Premier Division is almost over.

Andy Robbins’ side kick-off their first ever campaign in the top flight with a home match against Stafford Town on Saturday (3pm) before visiting Southam United on Tuesday (7.45pm).

The Pebworth Road club have spent the summer installing floodlights at their ground, to meet league criteria, and are now ready for the action to start.

Chairman Colin Emms said: “We have been in the league for 12 years now so it’s been steady progress up the divisions.

“But the big jump is from the first division into the premier because you have got to get lights. We are pretty chuffed to have made it and we are looking forward to it.”

Keeper Danny Edwards is expected to return after missing last Saturday’s 6-1 defeat at Evesham United.
