FORMER Evesham Rowing Club member Yasmin Tredell is in the Great Britain squad for the World Under 23s Championships.
The 19-year-old student at Oxford Brookes University is part of the 44-strong group in Lithuania this week aiming to break into the senior ranks ahead of the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Women’s eight competitor Tredell, who attended Evesham’s Prince Henry’s High School, won gold at the 2010 World Junior Championships after joining the GB Rowing START programme two years earlier.
GB won three gold medals at the 2011 event in Amsterdam, which featured rowers who will be in this summer’s Games in London.
Team manager Steve Gunn said: “It is a promising young group of rowers and, as always, the joy of the under 23s is we don’t really know what will happen until the racing starts.”
